Are you right for Brian?

Seven-year-old Brian is now ready to find a special forever home to call his own. He’s looking for a calm, adult home where he can be the only pet, and he'd be best suited to living with older teens (16+) who are confident around larger dogs and respectful of his need for space. Brian can be a little sensitive at times, so his new family should be prepared to visit him a few times at the centre to build a bond, and also be open to home visits. Our friendly Training & Behaviour team will be on hand to support you as you get to know Brian and settle him in. He's very fond of treats, which helps with training and strengthening your relationship with him. He can be left for short periods (up to 4 hours), though this will need to be built up gradually. Brian may need a refresher on housetraining, so his new family should expect the occasional accident during the settling-in period. He’s currently on long-term pain relief, and our vet team will be happy to chat more about this with you.

Is Brian right for you?

Brian is a big-hearted boy with a gentle soul who just needs a little time to shine. While he can be unsure of new faces in his kennel, once he's out and about, he really comes into his own—enjoying fuss, cuddles, and showing off his playful side. He’s especially fond of tennis balls and can be quite the oversized puppy during playtime! Brian walks beautifully on the lead and will need to stay on it while in public areas. Although he was previously a bit reactive to other dogs, he’s made great progress and is now happy to walk past them calmly. A secure private garden would be a lovely bonus for Brian, giving him space to relax and potter about. He’d thrive in a home that offers him both the quiet time he needs and the affection he enjoys—especially if that includes a comfy sofa for cuddles. If you think you could offer Brian the loving home he deserves, please click the ‘Apply to Adopt’ button to learn more.
