Setting the stage for Monty and Spencer

Spencer & Monty

Throughout August the West Calder Rehoming Centre will be shining the spotlight on two more of the centre’s dogs who have so far been a little unlucky in finding their pawfect home.

Getting the Hollywood treatment this month are Monty and Spencer.

Both of these lovable characters have a lot of love to give but, like many great Hollywood stars, they also have particular needs and wishes that need to be met and they like to be the centre of attention in their own homes!

The team at West Calder hope that bringing these two pooches into the spotlight this month will help them to secure their dream role as the perfect companions!

The month-long campaign to find homes for Monty and Spencer will culminate in Spotlight Sunday which takes place at the rehoming centre on Sunday 1 September from 12pm to 4pm. Spotlight Sunday is the pawfect opportunity to find out so much more about Monty and Spencer and see if you could provide them with the happily ever after they’re looking for!

Monty is a handsome 5 year old Lurcher who is always full of fun! He is an excitable and playful pooch who never gets tired of playing with his toys, especially his favourite squeaky ones! Like his namesake, Hollywood star Montgomery “Monty” Clift, who was renowned for playing sensitive characters, canine Monty is also a sensitive boy in need of love and support. He is a super friendly boy who loves to be around people. Monty adores being in the company of his family and he is looking for someone who can spend time with him throughout the day and provide plenty of love, fun and tummy rubs!

Spencer is a crossbreed and at just one year old he is full of fun and excitement! Like his namesake Spencer Tracy, one of the stars during the Golden Age of Hollywood, Spencer is a big presence at the centre. This young pooch is a loving, friendly and playful boy who loves being the centre of attention! A big and active lad, Spencer loves nothing more than to be running around the garden playing games with his family. While Spencer adores people, he does not like to be around other dogs and he needs quiet walks in the countryside where he won’t meet many of them. Spencer is a big and active boy still learning about the world and his new owners will need to provide him with plenty of games, training and activities to keep his mind busy.
