Dogs Trust

Jingle paws, jingle paws, find out how you can get involved

Person dressed as a Christmas elf

With winter well and truly upon us, here at West Calder we are thinking of all things Santa Paws!

Our Christmas Fair is on the 1st of December and there are so many ways you can get involved with this fantastically festive event! Every penny raised makes sure we can give our dogs everything they need throughout the year, not just at Christmas, whilst they wait for their special someone to come along so all donations will be gratefully received!

Volunteer

If you would like to really get into the Christmas spirit and help us spread festive cheer, why not donate your time and volunteer to come along and help on the day? We are looking for elves to help us with everything from monitoring the car park to serving treats at in our Christmas café. If you have an hour or two to spare, we would really appreciate it. Please email [email protected] for your information pack.

Not able to help on the day? We would also love for any dog-loving bakers to make a cake or two to help stock our Christmas Café with lots of sweet treats for our two-legged friends to enjoy. Please email [email protected] for more information.

Get rid of unwanted gifts

Maybe you are still holding on to that bath set from last Christmas or you just want to have a clear out to make room for all your gifts this year? We are on the lookout for donations of chocolate and other sweet treats along with bottles, gifts such as toiletries and trinkets for our tombola.

You can drop donations into our rehoming centre in West Calder. Why not book a behind the scenes tour before your visit to see how your donations make a difference to the dogs in our care? Give us a call on 01506 874026 to arrange.

Come along

If you just want to come along with your pooch and join in the fun on the day we would love to see you! Visitors and their four-legged friends will be able to have their picture taken with Santa Paws, there will be gift and craft stalls as well as our Christmas Café offering hot drinks and sweet treats. There will also be some fun indoor games for dogs and their owners to enjoy.

We would really appreciate it if you can bring a donation of a present for one of our dogs to open on Christmas day along on the day (Tins of dog food, dog toys and dog treats are all on their lists for Santa Paws).

Entry and parking are free but must be pre-booked here

Unfortunately due to the size of our car park parking is strictly limited and must be prebooked. Cars attending without booking will unfortunately have to be turned away.

This event can get quite busy, so we ask that you be mindful that your dog would be happy in a busy environment with lots of other dogs and people before deciding to come along.

Remember to keep an eye on our Instagram and Twitter for all the festive pupdates and email [email protected] if you would like to get involved or if you have any questions!
