Can you help Chick hop off to her forever home this Easter?
Staff at Dogs Trust Loughborough are hoping that the Easter break will find one of their dogs with ears to rival Roger Rabbit, hopping off to her new home.
Two-year-old Border Collie, Chick, never misses a thing at the Rehoming Centre thanks to her ‘egg-cellent’ hearing and now she and the team are listening out for that special someone to say the magic words and declare that she is the dog for them.
Young Chick arrived at Dogs Trust back in February 2016 having been found wandering the streets as a stray.
Celine Di Crocco, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Loughborough, says:
“Chick is a very special girl who after a tough start in life really deserves to find her forever home. She is shy but she is also full of bounce and likes to be on the go, and her ears give her such a distinctive look we really hope that Easter sees someone realise how lovely she is and gives her a second chance.”
Her large ears aren’t the only thing Chick has in common with her four-legged bob-tailed rabbit friends, as just like them she prefers to have a four-legged companion to play with, she doesn’t like to be over-handled and it takes her a while to get used to new people and situations.
“It will take Chick a bit of time to build a bond with her new two-legged friends, but she is never happier than when she is with another playful, active, confident dog, that’s when her true personality really shines through.
“We would love to find her a forever home with another dog who can help her explore and enjoy everything the world has to offer.”
Chick would prefer a quiet adult only home or a home with young adults, and her new family will need to visit her at the rehoming centre a few times so she can start to build a bond with them before hopping off to her new home.
