Is one of these black beauties your perfect canine companion?
Dogs Trust Loughborough is currently looking after 53 dogs who are ready to head off to their forever homes.
Quite a few of those waiting to find their special someone are black and all are beauties. The team are hoping that before Black Friday arrives at the end of the month, all of them will have found a home of their own thanks to dog lovers who have chosen to adopt not shop.
Four-year-old German Shepherd Atlas loves nothing more than a long walk so if you’re happy to head out for two or three hours whatever the weather, then Atlas could be the dog for you. He needs to be the only pet in an adult only home.
Blackberry is a five-year-old old Collie Cross who loves to be on the go and likes to keep his brain busy. He would like a rural home with owners who are happy to keep him as active as he likes to be, and perhaps take him to agility lessons once he’s settled in his new home.
Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Dylan, is still young and at just two has lots of energy! He loves heading out on a great adventure, adores toys and treats and you will have a friend for life if you’re happy to play tug with him! He likes to take his time to get to know people but quickly builds a bond. He can live with older teenagers.
Six-year-old Labrador Cross Lana is looking for a calm, patient family who will let her settle into her new home in her own time. She is a real foodie so her new owners can use her favourite treats to build her confidence, and to do training with her. She is a lively girl and is never happier than when she is carrying one of her favourite toys around.
Sam is a three-year-old Cocker Spaniel who is looking for a special home as he likes routine and doesn’t like lots of comings and goings. His favourite thing is playing in water and so if there’s a stream nearby, he’ll do his best to find it! He will need to meet his new family a few times before heading home so he can build a bond.
Six-year-old Cocker Spaniel Scooby is super bright and will thrive in a home where his owners are happy to help him fulfil his potential doing an activity such as search work. He needs time to build his trust and would like a rural home with a maximum of two adults. He likes quality time on his own so will need a ‘chill out’ area.
Roomba found himself at Dogs Trust after his owners moved house and they couldn’t take him with them. He is a four-year-old Rottweiler and is completely unaware of his size! He is full of fun and has a cheeky personality but would like a home without children and with a family that can help him learn more about how to behave around people and other dogs.
