Dog School Manchester East

At Dog School Manchester East we run fun, relaxed and supportive classes where our priority is ensuring that you and your dog are building positive relationships.

We have a wealth of knowledge and experience and we are dedicated to your dogs welfare. We focus on teaching nice manners, calm behaviours and practical skills in our classes and we are passionate about helping you understand your dog. We want you to further develop your bond and help you to have a wonderful and enjoyable life with your best friend!

Our classes in Manchester are so popular that we have divided our coaches into two separate teams, so if you can't find a class please check out Manchester West for more options.

Lesson plans and FAQs

Dogs Trust Dog School classes combine training skills and exercises to prepare your dog for everyday life. We give you lots of information to help you understand your pooch and avoid common behavioural issues.

School Trainers

Emma Armitage , Head Coach

Emma came to Dog School in April 2016, prior to that she has worked voluntarily in Pet Dog Training for 10 years. Emma has a completed a diploma in Dog Behaviour and is an APDT Member.

She shares her home with 4 rescue dogs: a blind rescue Labrador called Albert, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Ivy, a Labrador x Beagle called Douglas and a Rottweiler called Filip. In her spare time, she competes in Agility and Obedience and has recently started training in Rally Obedience and Hoopers.

Kerrianne Thomasson, Senior Coach

Kerrianne started as a Canine Carer at Dogs Trust Manchester, where she spent 3 years carrying out daily care, handling and training for our centre dogs - she also completed several dog training courses whilst there. Kerrianne joined Dog School Shropshire & Cheshire in 2018 as their Coach, but has recently moved to Dog School Manchester as Senior Coach!

Kerrianne has previously achieved Triple Distinction in National Diploma Animal Management and has been volunteering at numerous rescue centres for over 4 years.

At home, Kerrianne has Sam the Springer x Collie, Skyla the blue Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Tilly the Miniature Schnauzer. Kerrianne is extremely passionate about dogs and their welfare, and loves getting to teach this in class.

Georgia Holt, Coach

Georgia has always been passionate about animals and began volunteering at a local animal shelter in 2012 which led her on to complete her level 3 extended diploma in Animal Management with a triple distinction. From this, Georgia went onto working for various animal charities where she gained lots of great experience.

At home, Georgia has a 9 year-old shih tzu called Ruby and 2 tortoises Shelly and Pebble. Georgia also currently fosters rabbits where she rehabilitates them and cares for them until they find their new home. In her spare time Georgia is a hobby baker and enjoys trying new recipes and being creative with her decorations.
