Are you right for Tofu?

Tofu is a gentle, affectionate 9-year-old boy who’s looking for a second chance at life with a family who can help him feel safe and secure. He can live with calm, respectful primary school-aged children and would be happiest in a moderate to quiet home where he can settle in at his own pace. Tofu will need to be the only pet in the home, but he really enjoys walking with other dogs and would love to have a few regular walking buddies. That said, he does tend to bark at dogs when he's on lead – we believe this may be due to the stress of being around so many other dogs in a kennel environment, and with time, patience, and a more peaceful routine, this may improve. Because Tofu came to us as a stray, we don’t know much about his past. However, we do know he’s shown signs of trying to escape, so a secure garden is essential. Thorald does need a family who can offer him time, consistency, and gentle encouragement to help him settle in and thrive.

Is Tofu right for you?

Tofu is already showing lovely manners on the lead. He’s kept his kennel clean, which suggests he may have some housetraining, though he may need a little refresher as he adjusts to home life. Tofu absolutely loves company and prefers not to be left alone for long, so a home where someone is around most of the time would suit him best. He’s been a joy on car rides and enjoys getting out and about for walks in new places. His favourite moments are when he’s simply spending time with people, taking in the world at a gentle pace. Thorold has a sweet, soulful nature that shines through once he feels comfortable – he just needs the right family to show him the love and stability he deserves.
