Are you right for Max?

Max is a lovely, 10-year-old Cockapoo looking for a calm and caring home where he can enjoy life at a gentler pace. He’s a super affectionate boy who adores being around people and will happily spend his days by your side, whether that’s pottering around the house or curling up for a cuddle on the sofa. Max would love a home where someone is around most of the time, as he can find being left alone a little worrying. He may become unsettled and vocal when left, so his new family will need to be patient and help him build up his confidence gradually. In return, you’ll have a loyal companion who just wants to be close to you. Out and about, Max enjoys his walks and is happy to say hello to other dogs without being reactive. He has previously lived with another dog and could do so again, but he’d also be perfectly content as the only pet, as people are definitely his favourite! He can sometimes guard higher-value treats around other dogs, so any feeding would need to be managed separately. Max has lived with children before and was fine, but due to his age and reduced sight and hearing, he would be better suited to a quieter home with older children or adults only, where things are a little more predictable for him.

Is Max right for you?

Max is a real sweetheart who quickly wins people over with his friendly nature and love of cuddles. He is house trained, walks nicely on the lead and travels well in the car, making him an easy companion to have around. He doesn’t need lots of high-energy exercise (two shorter walks a day suit him perfectly) but he will benefit from quieter walking areas, as loud traffic can make him a little unsure due to his reduced vision. At home, Max settles well and enjoys having free run of the downstairs. He may occasionally get a little unsettled if he’s unsure of his surroundings, so a consistent home setup will really help him feel safe and secure. Max may be an older boy, but he has so much love to give. He’s looking for a kind, understanding home where he can enjoy companionship, comfort and plenty of affection. In return, he’ll be a devoted little shadow and a truly wonderful best friend.
