Free Dogs Trust event to promote UK's favourite dog breed
Dogs Trust West Calder will be hosting a free event later this month [21st September] at the Rehoming Centre, to promote the Staffordshire Bull Terriers in their care, after ITV named them Britain’s favourite breed [Britain’s Top 100 dogs]. Despite being loved by the nation, the West Calder Rehoming Centre currently has 10 Staffordshire Bull Terriers in their care, with the breed having made up a fifth of their residents since the beginning of 2019.
The event, named ‘Staffielicious’ will take place on Saturday 21st September between 12.00pm – 4.00pm and will highlight the wonderful ‘Staffie’ residents and why they make such amazing companions. By nature, Staffordshire Bull Terriers are friendly, playful, full of energy and they love a cuddle; and those at the rehoming centre are no exception! Every one of these pooches loves to be around people, especially when they can receive plenty of cuddles and attention.
Kim McNeill, Assistant Manager at Dogs Trust West Calder, said:
“Although we do generally get a lot of Staffordshire Bull Terriers through our, very often it is easy to find them willing new homes. However, at the moment we have quite a few in need of homes, so want them to get every opportunity they can to be noticed by potential owners.
“One of the adorable Staffies currently in our care is Billy, a one-year old boy who loves people, playtime and pretending to be a lap dog by sitting on your knee. Billy is full of fun and energy and like all the other dogs in our care, would love a family of his own.”
If you would like to find out more about Billy or any of the other super Staffies, please get in touch with the team at the West Calder Rehoming Centre on 01506 873459.
