Dogs Trust West Calder’s Summer of Fun
With only 1 month to go to our Fun Day some of our residents wanted to share some of their favourite things about the day.
If you want to experience it for yourself make sure to get down to West Lothian College in Livingston on Sunday 25th August
Woof woof, I’m Vinnie and I love hearing the stories that our wonderful volunteers come back with after fun day. Volunteers help with everything from putting up gazebos and tables to running stalls and helping all of our two-legged and four-legged friends have the best day possible! We are always on the lookout for more new friends to come help out at the centre and at our events. If you are interested in finding out more why not pop into our rehoming centre at West Calder to find out more about the opportunities available.
Arf arf, Angus here! I wanted to tell you about my favourite activities at our Fun Day! We have lots of things for our four legged friends to do like our fun dog show, have-a-go agility and doggy dash. My favourite though is temptation alley. There are lots of toys and treats that you have to try to navigate past without being tempted. I haven’t mastered it yet but I usually manage to grab myself a new teddy to take home and still get told I’m a good boy for trying! Activities start at 12pm so make sure to get down early so you can try them all!
Rraf rraf, Rory is my name and this year I have been helping my careers with organising the Fun Day raffle and tombola. I even featured on a poster to ask our lovely supporters to drop off any kind donations that we could use as prizes. I was very impressed to see all the lovely things that they have brought so far. If you have anything you think we could use from gift sets to jewellery to a box of sweets, we would really appreciate it and I would love if you would come say hello to me and my friends when you visit the centre to drop the donation off!
Remember to keep an eye on our Instagram and Twitter for all the West Calder Fun Day Pupdates and email [email protected] if you would like to get involved or if you have any questions!
