Paws up! Dogs Trust raises over £10k at annual Fun Day
Dogs Trust Snetterton is celebrating after yet another successful Fun Day on Sunday 12 May 2019.
After many months of planning and organising, the team were delighted to see more than 2,000 people at the event, which was held at the rehoming centre on North End Road. An amazing £10,000 was raised for the charity, with more still coming in.
The highlight of the day as ever was the Fun Dog Show, where ex-Dogs Trust Snetterton resident Teddy won Best in Show after wowing the judges. The King Charles spaniel was very overweight when he first arrived at the centre, but thanks to the support of his new family, Teddy is now a healthy weight and even looks younger.
Dogs Trust Snetterton’s Supporter Relations Officer Paige Langton is delighted with the turnout of people and their generosity.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to the local community and all of the supporters who turned up to help us raise money for the dogs in our care. We’d also like to say a huge thank you to anyone who donated raffle and tombola prizes. Their generosity made a huge contribution to the overall success of the day, allowing us to have another successful Fun Day!
“It was wonderful to see so many people and of course not forgetting all our four-legged-friends who attended — many of which were ex-residents that we were so happy to see doing so well.”
Other highlights from the day included a fantastic display from the Lowestoft Agility Team, the Scratby Donkeys and a special appearance by Dogcilla, the Dogs Trust mascot.
Funds from the Fun Day will go towards helping the rehoming centre to continue providing homeless and abandoned dogs with the best possible care as they await their forever homes.
