Snetterton Christmas Fair 2018

Festive Dogcilla

Another year, another Christmas Fair done and dusted! And what a corker it was…

Despite the not so favourable weather (when did a slight drizzle ever put off a hardy dog owner!) we saw hundreds of visitors and their dogs come to support our lovely event. For the first time ever, our tombola sold out in the first hour, we ran out of raffle tickets (so had to use an emergency supply) AND we very nearly almost ran out of Grotto gifts too! Santa was very busy indeed this year, too many good children and dogs to meet!

I can imagine you're all wondering how we did on the night, well I am very pleased to announce that we raised an incredible £2,034.18 for our dogs, more than we've ever done before!

A huge thank you to each and every one of you that attended and made the day such a special event for us here at the rehoming centre. Without you, our loyal supporters, we wouldn't be able to do what we do here at Dogs Trust. You rock!

Secondly my thanks must go out to our wonderful volunteers, simply without whom, the event would not have happened. It seems ever more poignant that today is also International Volunteer Day, the day for us to take a step back and truly appreciate just how hard our volunteers work and how much of their free time they give up helping us here at Dogs Trust. Thank you for being such fantastic human beings to our canine friends.

And so that is another year of fundraising events done! It's been quite the challenge doing them on my own for the first time, but I honestly couldn't think of a more rewarding job than this one. Although, I am looking forward to having the lovely Kate Brewster back next year to relieve some of the organising!

I think it's finally time for me to start feeling a bit festive (although I haven't started my shopping yet, oops!). Merry Christmas to you all!
