Dogs Trust

UPDATE: Our rehoming centres are closed until further notice, however we are now able to rehome a small number of our amazing dogs. Each dog’s profile will let you know if they are looking for a new home. For the time-being, we are unable to register your interest for dogs who are not yet available for rehoming.

Sweet, sensitive Rafa searches for special soulmate

Rafa, a 10 year old Collie

Rafa is a 10-year-old collie at Dogs Trust Snetterton who’s ready to pack his bags and move into his fur-ever home with a special someone.

Rafa is a very special boy, who doesn’t currently feel comfortable around men and much prefers the company of a lady. For this reason, Rafa is waiting for a female only household, where this ladies’ man will feel more comfortable and confident. He will need his new female adopter to be with him for most of the time, as he doesn’t enjoy being on his own.

This beautiful boy is young at heart, and in typical collie-style, he loves going on walks and playing with toys. Although he’s 70 in dog years, he’s still a lively, playful boy who loves games and getting some exercise.

Rafa is a very clever boy and already knows how to sit, paw and walk nicely on lead. Rafa would benefit from some additional training and enjoys picking new things up- in exchange for some tasty cheese of course!

This sweet boy will enjoy a little fuss and some affection once he knows you, and when he’s more confident will nudge you for more. With patient and understanding adopters, this anxious boy will begin to come out of his shell and show off his lovely personality. Rafa’s potential adopters should have some experience with anxious dogs, as he needs a female friend who understands him.

New environments can make this sweet boy nervous, so he’ll need a quiet, calm adult-only home with adopters who give him time and space to get settled. Rafa would love to live in a rural location, where he can relax away from noise and would love to be able to play in a decent sized garden.

Rafa is friendly with other canines and will happily say hello to other dogs whilst out on walks but would like to be the only pet in the home so he can soak up all the attention for himself!

As Rafa is looking for quite a specific home, he has been waiting at Dogs Trust Snetterton for a little while now and is ready for his furry-tail ending with his dream-girl adopter. If you are a patient and understanding person, Rafa will be a truly rewarding pet and a lovely addition to the home.
