Volunteer Canine Assistant

The Volunteer Canine Assistant role:
We have positions available for a Volunteer Canine Assistant to support our Newton Tony centre. This role is physically demanding but it is a rewarding opportunity if you adore dogs and would like to ensure our dogs receive the best care and support from you. If you have a couple spare hours a week and would like to kindly donate this time to our centre, then we would love to welcome you to our team.
We are looking for volunteers to support us on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8am until 11am. Weekend opportunities are limited but do feel free to register your interest.
As a volunteer Canine Assistant your tasks will include:
- Cleaning kennels (deep or spot cleaning)
- Assisting with laundry duties
- Washing up in our kennel kitchens
- Preparing feeds
Other tasks may include exercising/spending time with our dogs (depending on the suitable dogs at our centre) making enrichment items for our dogs (e.g. destruction boxes, frozen treats, snuffle mats) or restocking our kennel kitchens with food and supplies.
