Thank you for being there for us last year, now we're here for you.

Anniversaries often remind us of the happiness those no longer with us brought into our lives and the donation you made last year is a wonderful example of that. Your heartfelt tribute made a real difference and continues to reflect the love you shared.

In this update, you’ll find the support we offer and touching ways others have honoured their loved one.

Thank you for helping us...

With your support we have:

  • Launched our new behaviour services, offering over 20,000 dog owners training and behavioural advice

and so much more!

Claire running for Roxy

Running for Roxy

When Claire lost her friend Roxy to cancer in April, she felt the absence of someone who had brought so much encouragement and joy. Roxy had welcomed her into the aerial hoop community and was always there cheering her on, leaving a lasting mark on Claire’s life.

Roxy also adored her dog, Dandelion, and that bond inspired Claire to honour her memory in a meaningful way. She chose to take on the Manchester Half Marathon, fundraising for Dogs Trust in tribute to Roxy’s love for dogs.

Claire trained with determination and proudly completed the half marathon, raising an incredible £180 for dogs in need. For Claire, crossing the finish line was more than a personal achievement, it was a heartfelt act of remembrance, honouring Roxy’s life, her kindness, and the joy she found in her beloved Dandelion.

Rocco and Lexi

Caring for Rocco and Lexi when it mattered most

Rocco and Lexi, a father‑and‑daughter duo, arrived at Dogs Trust Snetterton in September after their owner became terminally ill. Thankfully, their owner had signed up to our free Canine Care Card Service, ensuring they would always be looked after.

Because of this, Rocco and Lexi were able to come into the centre together and finally receive the stability they needed. Then, on 13th October, the team shared the wonderful news that they had found a loving new home with a retired couple nearby.

Their journey is a touching reminder that love carries on. The Canine Care Card Service helps make sure dogs are cared for even when their owners can’t be there, and it’s only possible thanks to supporters like you, whose gifts in memory help dogs like Rocco and Lexi receive the love and attention they deserve.

A lasting tribute through dog sponsorship

If you’d like another way to honour your loved one, Sponsoring a Dog in their memory can be a meaningful tribute. Your gift last year made a real difference, and many supporters say it brings comfort knowing their loved one’s kindness continues to help dogs in need.

If it feels right for you, this is a simple way for their legacy to live on. As our in‑memory sponsorship packs differ from our standard ones, please call 020 7837 0006 to place your order.

From all the dogs in our care, the communities we support, and everyone across Dogs Trust, thank you for choosing to honour those no longer with us. Your kindness helps transform dogs’ lives every single day.
