Are you right for Max?

Max is a lively and friendly Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross, aged 3 years and 10 months, who loves getting out and about to explore the world. He’s an excitable boy on walks, enjoying plenty of sniffing and taking in his surroundings, though he is strong and will need a confident handler. Max is very people-friendly and greets new faces with enthusiasm, forming bonds quickly. He enjoys a good brush and a fuss, but he’s also independent and will let you know when he’s had enough attention. While he can be observant of other dogs and people, he tends to move on, though he is not comfortable around other dogs and can be reactive, so ongoing management and understanding of his behaviour will be important. Muzzle training is recommended to help keep walks safe and stress-free.

Is Max right for you?

Max would be best suited to an adult-only home or one with older teenage children who have experience handling reactive dogs. He will need to be the only pet in the household, as he is not comfortable living with other animals. Max can be left alone for short periods and generally settles well, making him a good fit for a home where someone may be out briefly during the day. With moderate energy levels, he’ll enjoy regular walks and enrichment, balanced with time to relax. His ideal owner will be confident, patient, and committed to managing his reactivity while giving him the structure and guidance he needs to thrive.
