Are you right for Penny?

Penny is hoping to find her forever home alongside her best friend, Cash. These two share a wonderful bond and are looking for a loving family who can welcome them both. Penny is a gentle, sweet-natured girl who really blossoms in a calm to moderately active home. She adores spending time with people she knows and trusts, and her soft, sensitive nature makes her a truly rewarding companion. A private garden would give Penny and Cash the perfect space to relax, play, and enjoy life together. Penny could live in a home with older, secondary‑school–aged children. Although she has limited experience with younger ones, she does very well with calm, understanding older children who can give her the space she needs to feel comfortable and confident. With steady routines and a peaceful environment, Penny’s confidence will continue to grow beautifully. Her future family should be happy to support her ongoing progress with gentle handling and building her car confidence. Most importantly, Penny and Cash are inseparable—they’ve even raised puppies together—so they are looking for a home where they can continue their wonderful life side by side. Penny does have a minor medical concern with her ear, that will require ongoing treatment, we're happy to talk to you about that when we contact you.

Is Penny right for you?

Penny is a delightful four-year-old Jack Russell Terrier currently staying with us through our Homestay Scheme while she and her best friend Cash look for a loving new home. Penny is a wonderfully sweet and affectionate little dog. Once she feels safe, she loves nothing more than gentle fuss and will happily nudge you for more attention. Though she may initially appear a bit shy with new people, she warms up beautifully with calm, patient reassurance. She accepts handling well and prefers slow, predictable movements, making her a lovely, sensitive companion. Her bond with Cash is especially heart‑warming; seeing him brings her pure joy, and their friendship offers her confidence and comfort. Together, they make a wonderful pair. Penny has previously had very little experience being left alone, so she’ll benefit from short, gradual absences at first to help her build independence in a positive and gentle way. She can travel in the car but finds it a little worrying, choosing to lie quietly in the boot until she arrives. With time, encouragement, and gentle desensitisation, her confidence with car journeys can continue to grow. Overall, Penny is a gentle, loving girl who thrives on reassurance, consistency, and kind interactions. She will make a truly rewarding companion for the right family—especially alongside her beloved friend, Cash.
