Are you right for Pickles?

Pickles can live with children over 16 but not other pets. He needs help with his house training and a quiet home with few visitors. Pickles may also need a few meetings at the centre before going home with his new family.

Is Pickles right for you?

Little Pickles is a shy chap who is looking for a family that can help him build up his confidence at a steady pace. He's been settling in slowly at the centre but we've seen him playing with his toys by himself which is a good sign that he's comfortable. We've adopted a "go slow" approach for Pickles so that he can feel confident in new situations by making his own choices. We don't force him into anything and his new family should take the same approach, to give him the best chance at finding his feet in his new home. Once he knows you he is more than happy to have a little cuddle with his trusted people. We've noticed that Pickles seems much happier when other dogs are around and he's keen to say hello, though he often resorts to humping! It's because of this that we believe he should be rehomed as a solo dog, but with lots of friends outside for walkies, just so nothing escalates out of control at home. He can be wary of big dogs, In his previous home, Pickles had different carers coming to the house each day and this distressed him, so he will need a home that doesn't have a lot of people traffic, or regular strangers visiting. He doesn't appreciate people taking things away from him so should be left alone when eating or enjoying a chew.
