Are you right for Moxie?

Moxie is an adorable 7 year old Fox Terrier has recently came into our care, and sadly, we don’t know much about his past. He’s a gentle soul who can find new environments and experiences quite overwhelming. However, with patience and reassurance, he starts to relax and will enjoy a little fuss before settling in for a peaceful potter and some sniffy walks which is his favourite way to explore the world. He’s searching for a quiet, adult only home with understanding adopters who are happy to take things slowly at his pace. Moxie thrives in a relaxed environment and is building confidence with gentle handling. He’s also learning to wear a muzzle to help with vet visits and grooming, which can feel a bit stressful for him. Moxie prefers to enjoy his meals without interruption, so it’s best for him to have a quiet, designated spot in the home where he can eat undisturbed. Since it's unclear whether Moxie has lived in a home before, he may need some support with housetraining and getting used to being left alone. We recommend gradually building up any time left once he’s feeling safe and settled and he absolutely loves a comfy bed for his naps. Moxie will need to be the only pet in the home for now, as we’re still assessing how he gets along with other dogs but this may change with time as we get to know more about him.

Is Moxie right for you?

He does have some ongoing medical needs and is currently on pain relief, which will need to be continued. He’s already feeling brighter and more comfortable, and our team is happy to chat through his care with any potential adopters. If you can offer Moxie the patience, love, and quiet companionship he needs, he’ll be a loyal little friend who simply wants a peaceful place to call home.
