Are you right for Winnie?

Winnie is a lovely 5-year-old Miniature Schnauzer searching for a calm, understanding home where she can truly relax and enjoy life. This sweet girl has had a difficult past and can take a little time to build trust, but once she does, she forms strong bonds and becomes incredibly affectionate on her own terms. Winnie enjoys the simple things in life: a cosy place to snooze (one of her favourite activities!); gentle companionship; and pottering about at her own pace. She’s happy to greet other dogs out and about and can be playful, often matching their energy nicely, and could potentially live with another calm, dog-savvy companion. She would be best suited to an adult-only home or one with older, sensible teenagers, as she can feel overwhelmed by younger children and may become annoyed by them. Winnie would love a patient adopter who understands that she may need time to settle in and build confidence, especially given her background. While she’s not one for big adventures or bad weather (rain is definitely not her thing!), Winnie enjoys her walks, though she can pull a little on the lead and will benefit from continued gentle training.

Is Winnie right for you?

Winnie is a truly sweet and endearing girl who has so much love to give. She is fully house trained, happy being left for short periods and settles well in the home, often choosing to snooze downstairs in her own space. She travels brilliantly in the car and has lovely manners at the vets, taking most things in her stride. She can be a little unsure with new people initially, but warms up quickly and soon shows her affectionate side - she especially loves a cuddle when she’s in the mood and is known for being very loving (and a bit of a licker!). Winnie isn’t particularly interested in toys and prefers a quieter lifestyle, making her an ideal companion for someone looking for a more laid-back dog. She may occasionally mark in the home, so this is something her new family should be mindful of while she settles. Overall, Winnie is a gentle, independent little character who will thrive in a patient, loving home where she can feel safe and understood. In return, she’ll be a wonderfully loyal and comforting companion - the perfect best friend for someone who appreciates a calmer pace of life.
