Are you right for Dexter?

Dexter is a beautiful and bright lad who is on the search for his paw-fect match. Our resident brain box, Dexter is always ready for his next challenge. Whether it’s completing a new agility course, mastering a new trick or showing off his skills for the camera he’s always giving it his all! Dexter is hoping to find his paws in an adult only home and would LOVE to find someone with a shared interest for learning lots of new things. Dexter loves being out in nature, exploring with his nose or paddling in the stream in the sunshine, no matter the weather he’s always up for fun! He would love his own garden where he can play and relax, he enjoys snoozing in the sun and playing with his toys. Dexter has previously been housetrained, but may need a little refresher as he settles back into home life. As it’s been a little while since he’s spent time in a home, we recommend any time being left is gradually built up. He loves to have a safe space like a crate to take himself away to and we often see him snoozing on top of one in his kennel watching the world go by.

Is Dexter right for you?

Whilst Dexter would like to be the only pet in his forever home, he is a social boy and enjoys sharing his walks and sniffs with his doggy friends. He often enjoys group walks here at the centre and going off site in the cars to explore new places. Dexter is such a smart boy and keeps us all on our toes, but can sometimes lack in confidence. He really relies on his human friends to show him that he can conquer anything so we’d love to find adopters who are committed to building a relationship with him. Dexter's favourite thing in the world is food which makes training a breeze however he isn't a fan of sharing his favourite things. He's been learning lots of swaps and drops for when he finds things he shouldn't have and is picking up all his new skills super fast! If you’re looking for a bestie who will take on the world with you side by side, Dexter could be your boy!
