Are you right for Bluebell?

Bluebell is a very sweet and sensitive 5yr old Maltese who came to us from a pretty awful situation. She's had a very difficult life, and not had the best experiences with humans prior to being with us. This has left her very uncomfortable around being handled. There was a time when she was too frightened to even leave her kennel, but through slow and consistent training she has come on brilliantly and is now ready to find her forever home. She will always be a timid girl and finds noisy, unpredictable situations frightening, so she must live in an adult only home with a secure garden so she has an outdoor space she feels safe in. Other dogs give Bluebell a lot of confidence so it's vital that she shares her home with a similar doggy friend or two who can help her find her way. She will need her new family around all the time for a good while as she has a lot of settling in to do but our team will be happy to help and support every step of the way.

Is Bluebell right for you?

We are incredibly proud of Bluebell's rehabilitation so far and we're keen to find her the right home to continue growing in confidence. For now she is living with one of our wonderful foster carers who tells us that once she has bonded with you she is a fun little dog! She enjoys playing with toys when the mood takes her and seems to like having her friends nearby. She will likely never be a lap-dog but she is proving that by letting her come round in her own time, and having another doggy friend with her, her confidence is definitely growing. Bluebell is taking medication to help with her anxieties and also for a luxating patella, but please don't be put off by this. Our Vet has a plan and will discuss in more detail with potential adopters. Add Bluebell to your favourites if you lead a peaceful life and have the time and passion to help us turn this lovely little lady's life around.
