Morgan

I'm looking for my forever home. Could you be my perfect match?

Are you right for Morgan?

Morgan is a young Cane Corso who can live with children of secondary school age or older. Pending a successful mix, Morgan could live with a confident dog in the home, and we have no history of him with other pets. He has been learning his basics here in the centre and is coming along very well, so this should be continued with his adopters to help him transition into his new home. Being a little nervous of loud noises, he would benefit from having more private areas of the house where he can retreat to if things get a bit too overwhelming for him, and whilst nice to have, a private garden is not essential. Any spaces where Morgan is free to roam off-lead should be secure with 6ft fencing, because he is a big boy! Morgan doesn't have any history of being left alone, so he would appreciate lots of company whilst he's getting settled in, and any leaving hours should be built up very gradually. He is very people-friendly, so he's fine to have regular visitors in the home.

Is Morgan right for you?

Morgan is a big bundle of love who enjoys plenty of fuss and attention from his people. He loves different kinds of brain games to keep his mind stimulated, so he should be provided with lots of fun and enrichment activities. Whilst he has shown some stress in his kennel, he has generally coped very well and is always eager and excited to see his handlers for cuddles, playing or exploring new areas. He can sometimes spook from unexpected loud noises, so a quieter area would suit him best. Morgan has been very comfortable when being handled for vet checks and grooming, taking the opportunity to lean in for fuss on multiple occasions! He loves meeting new people and generally greets them very nicely, although when excited he does need a little guidance to remember his manners! He's very friendly with dogs too, eager to say hello and have a play. Morgan has been eating very well and takes treats very politely, and we haven't seen him show much interest in toys. Morgan does show some nervousness around traffic and is very hesitant about cars, so lots of travel would not be suitable for him.

How our rehoming process works

  1. 1

Create an account and fill out our application form

If you’re ready to adopt, please complete our form to tell us all about your home, lifestyle and the kind of dogs you’re interested in. You won’t be applying for a specific dog, but we’ll use this information to find a great match for you.

  2. 2

    Choose a rehoming centre

We’ll also ask you to select a rehoming centre. The team at this centre will look after your application and assess you against all suitable dogs in their care. This doesn’t have to be your nearest centre, but you will need to travel there within a few days once we’ve found...

    We’ll review your application

We’ll review your application against the dogs in our care at your chosen centre. If we think we have the right dog for you, we’ll be in touch as soon as possible. If we don’t hear back from you, we will close your application for now, and you can reapply when you’re ready.

If we’ve found a dog who seems right for you, we’ll invite you to come and meet them at the rehoming centre.

Some of the dogs in our care will need to meet potential owners several times to get to know one another. This lets us see you’re compatible and gives you the chance to build a bond before making a commitment to give them a new home. By taking some time at the beginning to make sure everyone’s comfortable, an adoption is more likely to be successful.

We may also arrange a home visit with you, to see how your house will be set up and check that the garden (if you have one) is secure. This may not be necessary, though, especially if you’ve adopted from us before. Where you already have dogs, we may accept a reference from your vet as an alternative.

  6. 6

If we haven’t found the right match, we’ll continue the search together

If we haven’t found the right dog for you within three months, we’ll let you know your application is closed. We’ll invite you to apply again so we have up-to-date information about you, and we’ll keep looking.
