Are you right for Coco?

Coco is a beautiful 1-year-old Spitz who is looking for a patient and understanding home to help her truly flourish. She has lived in a home environment before, but she does find it difficult to fully settle, so she’ll need adopters who are willing to give her time, structure, and reassurance as she builds confidence. Coco would really benefit from living with an existing calm and confident dog who can help guide her and show her the ropes of everyday life. She takes comfort from other dogs and is likely to learn a lot from a steady companion. She will need support with housetraining and learning to be left alone. Any time left will need to be introduced very gradually, and initially she’ll need someone at home most of the time to help her feel secure and avoid becoming overwhelmed. Coco can live with sensible children aged 12 and over. She also experiences travel sickness in the car, so this is something her new family will need to be mindful of and work on gently over time. Once Coco feels safe, her lovely personality really shines through. She is a sweet little girl who loves to play and enjoys cuddles with her people. With patience, consistency, and kindness, Coco has so much potential to grow into a wonderful companion. If you’re able to offer Coco the understanding and stability she needs, you’ll be rewarded with a loyal and loving friend.

If we’ve found a dog who seems right for you, we’ll invite you to come and meet them at the rehoming centre.

Some of the dogs in our care will need to meet potential owners several times to get to know one another. This lets us see you’re compatible and gives you the chance to build a bond before making a commitment to give them a new home. By taking some time at the beginning to make sure everyone’s comfortable, an adoption is more likely to be successful.

We may also arrange a home visit with you, to see how your house will be set up and check that the garden (if you have one) is secure. This may not be necessary, though, especially if you’ve adopted from us before. Where you already have dogs, we may accept a reference from your vet as an alternative.

If we haven’t found the right match, we’ll continue the search together

If we haven’t found the right dog for you within three months, we’ll let you know your application is closed. We’ll invite you to apply again so we have up-to-date information about you, and we’ll keep looking.

We’ll support you to embark on a new life with your dog

When we’ve matched you with a dog, we’ll help you welcome them to your home. After adoption we’ll keep in touch to see how you and the dog are doing. If you need any advice or support, we’re just a phone call away.
