Are you right for Effie?

Effie is a bright and active girl with a lot of personality on the search for her forever home! She’s looking for a family that can keep her clever hound brain busy and engage her in training, as she loves to learn. Effie is a loving and affectionate companion once she’s built trust, so she needs a family who are prepared to be patient and understanding as she finds her paws. Effie needs an adult-only home with minimal visitors, especially while she’s settling in. She’s a sensitive girl who can find noisy, busy and new environments overwhelming. She will need to be the only pet in the home but can have calm doggy pals on walks once she’s comfortable. Effie struggles with being left alone and will need owners who can be home with her for most of the day to help her settle into her new home and routine in her own time, she has been housetrained in the past. She is making great progress with her training, especially wearing her muzzle on walks. She’s a clever girl who loves her food, which makes training both fun and rewarding for her. Effie may benefit from a home who have experience with hounds or are willing to do the research to understand their unique quirks but this isn't essential.

Is Effie right for you?

Effie does have ongoing medical needs, and our team at the centre would be happy to talk you through this. Effie is a loving and playful girl who really enjoys spending time with her favourite people. Since she finds the outside world a bit overwhelming, she’ll need secure garden with 6ft fencing where she can explore and play at her own pace. She would also benefit from having her own safe space in the home where she can retreat and relax, especially if she is feeling overwhelmed. Effie’s ideal forever family will need to commit to multiple visits and training sessions at the centre before taking her home, so you can start building a relationship and become the best of friends! If you think you can provide the home Effie deserves, please Apply to Adopt or come into our centre and speak to our Adoption Advisors.
