I'm looking for a new home...

About Thor

2 to 5 Years

Thor is a goofy 3 year old DDB who has no concept of his own size and strength! He is wonderfully playful but can be quite clumsy and doesn't really focus on what he's grabbing, so you might find yourself with sore fingers now and again!

Type of home needed

Thor is not always great with unfamiliar people and he will lunge at them on occasion. Any potential adopters will need to be committed to meeting him quite a few times whilst he's at the centre, and will need to be mindful of this behaviour once he's home. He is currently being trained to accept a muzzle by the staff, and you'll need to be comfortable with carrying this on at home. Thor is wonderful once he's comfortable with you but he's going to need a home with NO CHILDREN, and where there is few, if any, visitors. He will walk with other dogs but he behave very differently with te same dog on different days, so will need to be the only dog in the home. His previous owner reported that Thor is house trained and can be left alone for a few hours.

More about me

Please look beyond Thor's breed and see that there will be some work involved with adopting him, and that we need to be stringent with his rehoming criteria.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Merseyside Rehoming Centre in Liverpool.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
