I'm looking for a new home...

About Mali

2 to 5 Years

Mali is a 4yr old Malinois Shepherd, who came to us as a stray from Ireland. This super sweet, sensitive girl can get very overwhelmed by life in general. As a result of this, she has been with us for quite some time whilst weve worked to change some of those emotions and teach her better ways of coping when she feels like things are a bit too much. Being super smart (as well as beautiful!), Mali has made some fantastic progress and is now ready to start looking for her new home!

Type of home needed

We are looking for a quiet, rural home for Mali, with access to quiet walks in terms of NOT seeing too many other people and dogs, and being able to keep a distance if you do come across them. She will need a secure garden with a minimum of 6ft fencing, so that if she doesn't feel up to facing the scary world outside, she can potter around at her own leisure. Her adopters will need to be calm, understanding and committed to a reward-based approach to training to help her re-build her confidence and progress forward. She does have several training programmes that will need to be continued in the home, most of which all link back to her confidence and anxieties. Our Training and Behaviour team will be able to talk to you more about these if your application is successful. We are looking to rehome Mali as AN ONLY DOG as she is uncomfortable around other dogs, especially up close and she would rather avoid them. She can and will ignore and disengage from dogs at a distance. Mali CANNOT live WITH CATS OR SMALL FURRIES, due to strong breed traits.

More about me

Mali will need AN ADULT ONLY home environment with no visiting children - She has the potential to be left for up to 4 hours, however this time will need to be built up slowly and only once she has had time to settle in - Mali is housetrained - Due to her training and behaviour needs, multiple visits to the centre and multiple chances for her to visit your home will be required. Because of this we are looking for a committed home within 45 minutes of the centre, who can visit regularly - OUR TRAINING AND BEHAVIOUR TEAM WILL BE THERE TO SUPPORT YOU BOTH DURING AND AFTER THE ADOPTION -To apply for Mali please click on the 'Rehoming me start here' button below. Applications will close when a suitable match has been found.
