Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

Rupert

I'm looking for a new home...

Rupert is full of character but can have a sensitive side. He has training that will be ongoing in the home so will need dedicated owners able to carry this out using positive reinforcement. He can be worried initially but his love for treats can help make friends.

Type of home needed

Rupert is looking for an active home that can give him both the physical and mental stimulation he craves. Rupert is looking for an adult only home with no visiting children and must be the only pet. He needs his own secure garden as he will need to be kept on lead for his walks. Minimal leaving hours are needed. Rupert has come on leaps and bounds with his training, new owners must be up for continuing this.

More about me

The training team would speak to anyone interested in this gorgeous boy and multiple meets at the centre is required as well as multiple home visits. Potential new adopters do need to live within an hour from the centre. Please get in touch if you think Rupert is the boy for you.

We do everything we can to provide essential care for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs who need us, now more than ever. If you'd like to help us during these challenging times, please make a donation. Your support means so much to us all, thank you.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Darlington Rehoming Centre in County Durham.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
