I'm looking for a new home...

About Teddy

Teddy is very enthusiastic about life and shows his cheeky personality to everyone he knows. He has been receiving training at the centre and continues to thrive with it. His love of food and toys are certainly the way to make friends with him as it does take him some time to warm up to new people and he isn't going to love everyone. He has been socialising well with other dogs during his time here which will need carefully continuing once home.

Type of home needed

Teddy requires a quiet adult only home with a secure garden and minimal visitors (no children). He will need to be the only pet in the home but can have respectful walking pals. He must be muzzled and kept on lead for his walks, owners will need to choose their walking routes wisely as he will attract a lot of attention, but these are situations that Teddy finds uncomfortable. He has been learning to enjoy his grooming sessions as he will certainly require regular maintenance. He will need patient owners as it may take some time for new owners to be able to carry out basic handling.

More about me

New owners will need to work with the training team to help Teddy transition to his new home. He will need potential owners to visit the centre multiple times to get a bond with him, before going to his new home. Therefore you must be able to attend the centre multiple times a week.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Darlington Rehoming Centre in County Durham.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.
