A gentle giant with tonnes of character - taking the time to get to know Archie will be truly worth the while. He does have a sensitive side, so it may take several meetings before he reveals all his wonderful ways to you, but you can be certain from the offset that Archie is a big boy with an even bigger heart. As well as his adoration for spending time with his favourite people, Archie also enjoys indulging in tasty treats (great for his training), going for walks with his canine chums and relaxing on his duvet with a long-lasting chew.
Type of home needed
Archie has made huge progress since his arrival in our care - with guidance from his carers and doggy pals, his self-confidence is growing day by day. He's hoping to find understanding owners who can continue his reward-based training, while allowing him to take each step at his own pace. Experiencing the variety of the outdoor world is one of the things that Archie is working towards feeling comfortable with. Easy access to quiet, countryside walks will be needed and it is important that he has a well-suited dog buddy to go on walks with, as they help him to feel at ease. However, he cannot share his house with any other pets, including dogs. His perfect home would be somewhere quiet and peaceful, situated away from the busy roadsides and with a generous-sized garden to do zoomies in! Archie can live with teenagers over the age of 16 and will need minimal visitors.
More about me
You will be pleased to know that Archie is now available for adoption, but he will need to meet his new family multiple times before he goes home. In line with current government guidelines, we can open to the public through a limited, appointment-only basis. If you think you could offer Archie a home, please call us to register your interest. If it seems you could be a match, you may be invited to our centre for an appointment to meet him. Please note: You must live within an hour's drive to our Rehoming Centre.
During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our
rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful
staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now
able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs.
This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of
being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by
your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without
your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to
those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs
get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them
their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult
time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue
looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
