Dogs Trust

UPDATE: Our rehoming centres are closed until further notice, however we are now able to rehome a small number of our amazing dogs. Each dog’s profile will let you know if they are looking for a new home. For the time-being, we are unable to register your interest for dogs who are not yet available for rehoming.

Our rehoming centres are currently closed to the public, but we are now able to start looking for new homes for some of the amazing dogs in our care. At the moment, there are only a small number of dogs who are ready for their new home, and we expect them to be very popular. Please bear with us once we have received your enquiry, and we will be in touch to talk further about whether you could be a perfect match! .

If you need urgent help regarding giving up your dog, please contact us immediately and we will offer you as much advice and support as we can. We’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs, while avoiding any close interaction with each other.

We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked and looked after. We’d like to say a big thank to you, for your continued support.

Bracken is a sweet little lady who is looking for a home with people who can continue her training. She is reactive to other dogs so will need to be the only pet in the home while she works on her doggy social skills. She is more than happy with the attention of her human companions and prefers to have someone around for most of the day.

Type of home needed

Bracken is an active little lady who will need a very secure garden as she is an escape artist. She will need to be kept onlead in public places as she would prefer to run around than come back, her recall is something her new owners should work on at home. Having recent experience of owning a dog would be best. A quiet home environment would be perfect to ensure she can focus on her training. She is always on the go and not a little lap dog.

More about me

She will need some further house training but is ok to be left alone for a couple of hours. Bracken is a very happy little lady who loves nothing more than playing with toys and her personality is sure to win you over. Bracken is looking for a home with children over the age of 16 I am not currently available for rehoming as I would like to meet my new family a few times before I go home, which is not possible due to current retrictions. My Canine Carers will let you know as soon as this changes, so keep an eye on my profile.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Bracken, who is based at Glasgow. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog.

We are temporarily trialling a new ‘handover at home’ service. Instead of asking you to come to the centre to pick up your dog, we will come to you. This will only be suitable for a select number of dogs, as some of our residents require multiple meets with their new owners, and it would be better for them to stay with us until restrictions are lifted and they can spend a bit more time with you before going home.

We will, of course, be doing everything to ensure the safety of our staff, and adopters when we offer this service. You can find out more about this below.
