Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

I'm looking for a new home...

About Rolo

1 to 2 Years

To apply to rehome Rolo, please click on the 'Rehoming me starts here' button below to start your online application. Applications will close when a suitable match has been found, at which point Rolo will be removed from the website. He's cheeky, friendly and enthusiastic, Rolo doesn't let anything hold him back! This incredible young boy takes on each and every new adventure in his stride and doesn't seem phased in the slightest that he is blind. Rolo has adapted extremely well to life without vision and shows no fear at throwing himself into new challenges. He is a super soppy, sparky and spirited boy who is guaranteed to be the perfect addition to the right new family.

Type of home needed

Rolo is seeking an active lifestyle where he can explore plenty of places in a safe way. He will need his own secure garden to mooch around in and would like his home set-up to be kept consistent to help him navigate his way around. Rolo is a friendly fella who should be happy to welcome new people into his home; He can sometimes get a little overwhelmed when lots is going on, but with reassurance soon settles again. It will be important for Rolo's time left alone to be built gradually and for him to be left in an environment that is safe for him to explore. He will be able to live with children who are at least secondary school age, and may be able to share his home with a canine companion pending mixes here at the Centre although he can be spooked by the sudden presence of dogs which will need to be considered (ideally, he will be the only pet in his home).

More about me

Rolo's home will need to be free of cats, although he may be able to live with other small furry pets who are securely housed. Travelling in the car is currently a bit of a challenge for this young lad, and some positive reward-based training would be beneficial in this area should it be a key part of his new lifestyle. Rolo has been keen to meet lots of new people and shouldn't be phased sharing his time with a dog sitter or walker as long as his additional needs can be appreicated. He would benefit from living in a quieter location without too much hustle and bustle to confuse him, and some amount of breed knowledge will be beneficial for his new family. Experience of owning a blind dog will be useful for anyone looking to offer Rolo his forever home, however we are always keen to educate people who haven't yet had this golden opportunity!
