Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

Mikey is a 4-year-old medium size Crossbreed. He is a lovely boy; however, he is quite independent and may take a little while to form a bond with his new owners. Mikey loves to play in the field and especially enjoys playing with his soft toys. He will need continued training around other dogs as he can be reactive, and this is due to him being worried. His carers are working on walking him at a distance with other dogs to slowly start building up his confidence around them. Due to this, Mikey will need to be the only dog in the home. Unfortunately, he is unable to live with cats/small furries.

Type of home needed

Mikey is looking for a quiet, experienced home who will allow Mikey to settle in at his own pace. Any time being left on his own will need to be built up gradually. He can live with children 14 years and over who are confident around dogs. His walks will need to be in quiet areas as he is still getting used to being walked on a lead and he can be spooked by loud noises. Mikey is recovering from having his leg removed due to an abnormality and is slowly building up his strength. Obviously, he is unable to go on long walks and would benefit from more regular, shorter walks. Mikey is a bright lad and does enjoy lots of enrichment and brain games and we would encourage his new owners to continue with this once in a home. Mikey will require multiple visits to the centre to get to know him. If you can offer a calm and patient home for Mikey, then why not find out more. Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Bridgend Rehoming Centre in Wales.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
