Rio is a beautiful Springer cross Collie, aged six. This energetic lady adores her toys, is always keen to explore the outdoors and is ever enthusiastic to participate in her training. While she certainly has an independent side to her character, she's also great fun to play football with and she'll love to show off all her favourite tricks to you! Although she's a happy-go-lucky and spirited lady, Rio can also find much of life overwhelming so is hoping to find a patient and understanding family who will support her along the way and allow her the time she needs.

Type of home needed

Rio is incredibly intelligent and thrives off when learning, so her perfect match would be with adopters who share her enthusiasm and wish to teach her new skills. Much more a fan of her people pals, Rio can be unsure around other dogs and requires walks in less-frequented areas where she can avoid bumping into them. She'll need to be the only dog at home but has previously lived with cats, so could potentially do so again depending on the layout of her new home! Due to sensitivities around noise, her adopters should also be sure to choose walks away from any busy roads or built up areas. A quieter household with minimal visitors will be ideal for Rio and the youngest members of her family should be aged at least 18. This also includes visiting family and friends. It is essential that she has a garden of her own at home.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Shoreham Rehoming Centre in Sussex.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
