Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

I'm looking for a new home...

About Albert

1 to 2 Years

This absolutely gorgeous bundle of fur is Albert (14 months) and two things are for certain when you hang around with this guy - FUN and AFFECTION. He is a little unsure of new people initially, but given some time to come around, you'll see his gorgeous personality shine through. His cracking character is testament to him, because he has had a tough time so far in his life. For various reasons, Albert hasn't been in a home since he was 10 days old, so he's looking for patient owners to help him settle in and learn the ropes.

Type of home needed

Albert has had quite a sheltered life so far and he isn't accustomed to the big, wide world. Understandably, he is nervous in new situations, however he comes around given the time to approach/explore in his own time and without pressure. We think he'd settle best with owners that don't need to leave him initially, especially as he has not been in a home for a long time, but this is something that will develop over time. He is quite enthusiastic when he sees dogs, and he'll need some work to refine his doggy greetings but he can happily have walking buddies when out and about. He must have a secure, private garden, and he'll need to be the only pet in the home. We think that Albert will be okay living with people 13 years and older.

More about me

Albert has got problems with his patellas that mean he will need to be on restricted exercise long-term. He will also need ongoing pain relief, so any potential owners must be prepared to take on some additional cost. Please don't hesitate to get in touch for more information. Albert really is a special boy and he will bring a lot to the home and hearts of whoever takes him on.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Leeds Rehoming Centre.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
