Zach is always full of enthusiasm and ensures that there is never a dull moment when he is around! This sweet young boy is around 1 year old and still has a lot to learn, but is likely to become quite an unforgettable member of the family. Zach has been living in one of our super foster homes for a little while where we have been able to gain some very insightful information about him. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs who can match his enthusiastic playstyle, and is always happy to race around with toys (especially the ones that make exciting noises!). Although Zach can struggle to switch off and take a break, he has a very loving side to him which is endearing in its own way. For a family who are actively seeking a bit of a project pooch with buckets of energy, Zach will be the perfect match.
Type of home needed
Zach is seeking a moderately busy home environment and an active lifestyle which should include increasing levels of physical exercise as he develops. He will need his own secure garden with high fencing, located in an area where he will not be able to see other dogs passing by. Zach's family would benefit from some level of lurcher knowledge or experience, and will need to be able to commit a lot of their time and patience towards his ongoing training in several areas. In his previous home, Zach struggled when left to his own devices; His time left alone will need to be built from minimal in a way that helps him feel safe. Zach is currently in foster in a multi-dog household which has contributed towards his success; For this reason, he MUST be rehomed with at least one other playful and tolerant dog who will be able to act as a positive role model. Zach will need an adult-only home with visitors being no younger than 12 years old.
More about me
Zach's home will need to be free of cats as he has previously shown quite a keen interest in chasing them. He has however been sharing his foster home with small furry pets who are securely housed in their own zone. Travelling in the car is no problem for Zach although he will be asking for plenty of attention in other areas of training due to his age rathen than concentrating on heading to new places far away. A low traffic area will suit Zach best as he is rather worried by lots of passing vehicles and can get himself into a bit of a pickle. He has mastered his housetraining whilst staying in his foster home, and may just need a little refresher in a new environment.
