Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

Calling all rural homes! Gorgeous May is one of life's worriers, and after much deliberation, she has decided that city life is not for her. Upon viewing many episodes of 'Location, Location, Location', she's set her sights on a retirement home in the countryside and she's now hoping to find a family that will help her achieve her dream. A quiet home with lots of garden space, so that May can continue with her hobby of 'gardening' (some might describe the hobby as 'digging')... so she'll need a family who are happy for her to have some say in the garden arrangement!

Type of home needed

May is currently living in a foster home where it has taken many months to build up her confidence around the house, so new owners should anticipate the same. May would be okay living with people aged 16 plus, as long as all May's housemates understand that she quite likes her own space and will interact with people when she is ready. May currently has her own room to retreat to and sleep in, where there is very little footfall. She would love to have the same in her new home - a secure base for her to explore from is a must. May is worried about visitors and would rather stay out of their way, so her room could be a good place for her to go to if you're having guests around. May isn't keen on dogs being in her space, but she will walk with them okay as long as introductions are done gradually. She has told us that she doesn't want to share her retirement home with any other pets. She is an incredibly sweet lady and it will be so rewarding to watch her flourish as she settles.

More about me

May is currently on medication to help with her anxiety, so any home must be aware of ongoing vet fees.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Leeds Rehoming Centre.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
