About
Leo
Likes
Leo is an incredibly sweet dog who's family had to make the very difficult decision to part with. He has been very much loved and cared for but sadly a change in circumstances means he is in need of a new home. He is an anxious chap by nature, but with a few treats and gentle words he comes around quite quickly. He's a relatively lazy boy who likes to lounge and eat, but he's also very smart and can open cupboard doors to get to his food! Leo loves to be with his family but can find having guests at ome a little stressful, but he's easily settled with some toys or a stuffed Kong. He's very sweet and affectionate and finds lots of comfort in his favourite people. He loves to play fetch but will often chew the toys up rather than bring them back to you!
Type of home needed
Leo is looking for a quiet household as he can find a busy environment quite stressful. He's currently living with one of our wonderful foster families. He will need an adult environment so that people can recognise if he is finding anything difficult to cope with, and give him the space he needs. Leo does give plenty signals when he's uncomfortable and tries his best to adjust when he can. When outside the home, Leo doesn't care for the company of other dogs and can be quite reactive towards them. He is rather nervous of them and the best approach is to be one step ahead of him and avoid any intercations where possible, whilst praising him for not reacting when unavoidable. Because of this he is obviously going to need a home free of other pets, as he's not fond of cats either!
More about me
If you could offer this sweet lad a new home for his later years, please click "Come And Meet Me" below. He will need a couple of meets before going home with you, and although we can't currently offer those, we can at least get the process started until restrictions are lifted.
In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue
our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like
to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.
