Covid-19 update: Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with social distancing measures in place to keep our staff and adopters safe.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe, including matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free.

Local restrictions may affect our rehoming procedures, so please check the rules for your area: we’re not able to facilitate appointments or adoptions across different tiers, or anywhere there are travel restrictions.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Mavis is a 3 year old Staffie cross. To apply to rehome me please click on the "Come and Meet Me" button below. Applications will close once i have found my match. Mavis is a super friendly girl who loves attention. She enjoys saying hello to new people and can live with children over the age of 14 years old. Mavis does not like other dogs and would need to be the only pet in the house.

Type of home needed

Mavis is looking for new owners who have experience of owning a bull breed before. She will need her own secure garden with direct access so she can spend some free time off her lead. Mavis does need to be walked in very quiet areas away from other dogs outside and she does need to wear a muzzle outside, which she is very happy with.

More about me

Mavis enjoys playing with her toys and exploring on her walks. She loves her home comforts and can often be found curled up all cosy in her bed, almost like the princess and the pea.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Mavis, who is based at West Calder (Edinburgh). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
