Covid-19 update: Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with social distancing measures in place to keep our staff and adopters safe.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe, including matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free.

Local restrictions may affect our rehoming procedures, so please check the rules for your area: we’re not able to facilitate appointments or adoptions across different tiers, or anywhere there are travel restrictions.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

About Ted

Lhasa Apso
5 to 7 Years

Ted is a sweet 7 year old Lhasa Apso looking for his very special home. He loves being out and about on walks where he can have a good sniff around and say hello to other canine friends. Once he has got to know you he like a gentle fuss however this is usually on his terms! Ted loves to play with his toys, especially cuddly, squeaky ones and is always happy to get a treat or two!

Type of home needed

Ted is looking for a home that has a secure garden. A quiet home would suit him best as he likes to do his own thing. Ted does have a condition called dry eye and is uncomfortable in the vets and with restraint, therefore adopters must be committed to this training and be comfortable muzzling him for this. Ted can live with children aged 16 years and over but no young visiting children. Ted is happy to say hello to other dogs but does prefer his own space so will need to be the only dog in the home.

More about me

We're confident that Ted will thrive in a new home. So once he's been matched with his perfect family, we'll be able to bring him to his new home contact-free meaning new adopters need to live within an hour's journey from the centre. We've got social distancing measuring in place to ensure we keep our staff and adopters safe - we'll discuss all the details with you if your application is successful. Applications will close when he has found a suitable match.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Ted, who is based at Manchester. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
