Our rehoming centres are not open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff, visitors and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

I'm looking for a new home...

About Fletcher

0 to 6 Months

I am currently looking for my new family. To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when I have found a suitable match.

Type of home needed

Fletcher is a big lively young lad who finds the big wide world quite overwhelming at times so is looking for quite a specific home that are understanding and committed to helping him build his confidence at his own pace. Fletcher loves his food and treats so this is a great way to help build a bond with him. Fletcher is a German Shepherd x Rottweiler and shows behavioural traits of both breeds so previous experience of these breeds would be greatly beneficial. Previous experience of quirky rescue dogs would also be beneficial. Fletcher will need his new home to commit to multiple meets here at the centre before he can go home.

More about me

5-month-old Fletcher is looking for an adult only home with a maximum of 2 people in the home and few visitors as he does find it scary meeting new people. Fletcher is a clever boy and will need lots of mental stimulation through enrichment and training in his new home so is looking for his new family to be up for doing plenty of brain games with him. Fletcher's new home must be willing to take life at his pace and be willing to help introduce him to the world using plenty of positive reinforcement training. Fletcher will need to be the only pet in the home and will need his new owners to be around all day to begin with to slowly build up his alone time as he can get quite worried being left on his own. He is also looking for his own secure private garden to plod about during the day. With committed owners, in time Fletcher will grow into a well-rounded lad.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Fletcher, who is based at Basildon (Essex). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
