Covid-19 update: Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with social distancing measures in place to keep our staff and adopters safe.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe, including matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free.

Local restrictions may affect our rehoming procedures, so please check the rules for your area: we’re not able to facilitate appointments or adoptions across different tiers, or anywhere there are travel restrictions.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Hera is a really sweet 4 year old, ex-racing greyhound looking for her forever home. She is a real foodie which will be ideal to teach her new things. She is full of beans and loves running around or being out and about on adventures. She is a cuddly girl who loves a fuss but will also happily stretch out and have a snooze on her cosy bed!

Type of home needed

Hera is looking for a home with a medium-large secure garden so she has plenty of room for zoomies! Hera has a high prey drive so is looking to live in a low populated cat and offlead dog area. There will also need to be no neigbouring cats. Her new adopter's will need to have greyhound experience or be willing to research the breed. Hera can live with children aged 12 and over. She will need to be the only pet in the home due to her high prey drive.

More about me

We're confident that Hera will thrive in a new home. So once she's been matched with her perfect family, we'll be able to bring her to her new home contact-free meaning new adopters need to live within an hour's journey from the centre. We've got social distancing measuring in place to ensure we keep our staff and adopters safe - we'll discuss all the details with you if your application is successful. Applications will close when she has found a suitable match.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Hera, who is based at Manchester. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
