How handsome is Buster? He's absolutely adored by all his handlers and here's why He's almost 3yrs old and although he had a very unsettled start in life has, he is the most loving boy. He's immediately friendly with everyone he meets and once he knows you well, he will shower you with affection. He loves being with his human friends and gets really playful if you bring his toys out. A game of fetch will always make him super happy! He's a trainers dream too because he loves his food. He's very eager to learn new things, especially if there are some tasty treats coming his way. He's very manageable around other dogs but doesn't like them getting in his personal space. This means he can't share his home with any other pets and will need to be walked in lower dog populated areas. He travels well in a car so driving him to peaceful spots won't be a problem. He's also housetrained, although may need a little refresher as he settles.

Type of home needed

Buster is looking for a very specific home set-up with patient owners who have a true passion for dog training. Sadly, he is known to 'shadow-chase' which has developed due to his previous anxieties. This means we're looking for a home which doesn't have an overly sunny view/aspect. Living in a home with less natural light coming in the windows will really help Buster settle. His home will need to be a calm environment where he can gradually learn a consistent and predictable routine. Children under 16yrs will not be suitable due to his specific needs. A secure garden would be nice, although not essential, but his home must have no neighbouring pets. Buster has a sensitive tummy so is fed on a special diet and he also has some problems with his hips meaning he can't be off on long walks. Potential adopters need to consider the ongoing cost of his medical needs and our Vet will happily discuss this in more detail.

More about me

We know it's a very special home we're looking for for our darling Buster, but in the right hands we know he has huge potential. He's come so far already and in the right home, and with the help and guidance of our training team, Buster will flourish, and you'll have yourself an amazing companion.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Leeds Rehoming Centre.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
