Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

To apply to rehome Amigo, please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when a suitable match has been found. PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID RESTRICTIONS WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS WITHIN A 1 HOUR DRIVE FROM OUR CENTRE (WR11 7RT). Amigo is a sweet little chap with a few quirks that will need to be given special consideration. He is a shy boy to begin with, but once settled and confident his more zesty and cheeky side begins to shine through. Amigo has been in a home previously, and toys are his absolute favourite thing. He is very precious over his resources which will require a lot of management and extra expertise in his new home.

Type of home needed

Amigo would like a quieter home environment to begin with where he can gain some confidence, but will equally need an active lifestyle once he is settled as he does have quite a high amount of energy. Amigo does have a history of escaping and will therefore will need a very secure garden and potentially will have to stay on lead on his walks. He tries his very best to be housetrained, and can be left on his own comfortably for an hour or so at a time. Amigo is rather typical of his breed in terms of his tendency to chase small furry things, and he likes travelling in the car for an adventure a little way from home.

More about me

Amigo is seeking an adult-only home where he can also be the only pet. This is due to his unwillingness to share resources including food and toys and also due to his shy nature in the very start. Amigo may be able to have visitors to his home who are of older secondary school age, but he must be given his own secure space to retreat to in his own time where he will not be disturbed, and he must not have any of his possessions taken away from him.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Amigo, who is based at Evesham (Worcestershire). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
