Type of home needed

Mike is an adorable, eleven year old Labrador/Mastiff cross, who is the true epitome of the term 'Gentle Giant'. He is an extremely affectionate fella who wants nothing more than a loving home where he can share his huge heart with his new forever family. This lovely lad is looking for a quiet, adult-only home with few unannounced visitors. For this reason, Mike will need his own dedicated 'safe space' where he can feel comfortable and safe should visitors arrive at his new home. Because Mike has shown to be a little wary of men in the past, especially strangers, we would ideally like to see him find a female-only home. However, we are open to discuss alternative options on a case by case basis. Mike would need to be the only dog in the home, but he's happy to have walking buddies. He's comfortable wearing a muzzle and will need owners who can continue doing this when he is out and about. Mike loves his toys and loves playing outside, so a good-size, secure garden will be required for him to explore and play safely off lead.

More about me

Mike thrives in the company of his humans and feels most content and relaxed, knowing you are close by. Due to his separation anxiety, Mike will need a home where someone can be around during the day as he settles into his new home. Time alone could potentially be looked at once Mike has been given ample time to settle into his new home. It would then need to be built up gradually, closely monitoring how Mike responds to it. Potential owners should be aware that Mike does have intermittent allergies, and a financial commitment may be required from time to time to help with this.
