Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Crumble is a gorgeous 3-year-old Lurcher who enjoys a good sprint about in the garden, she has lots of energy to burn off and she loves to play with toys, she can be quite boistrous in play. After she has ran off some energy she is affectionate and likes a fuss and a snuggle. She is motivated by food which is ideal for learning new things through positive reinforcement training. She already has a skill set of 'sit', 'down' and 'paw'. When it's nice and quiet she relaxes on the sofa or on a nice cosy bed. Crumble can often like the sound of her own voice when she sees other dogs out and about, therefore she needs careful socialisation with other dogs. Here at the centre she is doing well and has a few doggie pals who she enjoys walking with, including a very playful Lurcher who she adores! Crumble is happy to jump into the car for trips out.

Type of home needed

Crumble will make a fantastic and loving companion and is looking for a loving, fun and active home with patient and understanding adopters. She is looking for an adult only home and would like to be the only pet in the home to have all the attention for herself. Crumble would benefit from and enjoy quiet walks, so she doesn't feel overwhelmed whilst she works on gaining confidence around other dogs. Crumble would like her new family to be around most of the time especially whilst she settles into her new home. Time left alone would need to be built up gradually until she feels safe, secure and settled. Crumble is looking for a relatively rural home with minimal outside noise as she can become worried and overwhelmed. Crumble is currently in a foster home on our Home from Home Scheme.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Crumble, who is based at Ilfracombe (Devon). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
