Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

About Barney

5 to 7 Years

Barney loves his food and tasty treats! He has lived in a home before and was housetrained but not happy being left alone so he will need a home where his owners can be with him most of the time. He was also good to travel in the car.

Type of home needed

Barney is a sweet lad who is looking for a quiet but active home with new owners who will have the time to train and exercise him. He enjoy his walks but can be worried by dogs, owners will need to be aware of this when out walking and would not be able to have any other pets in the home. Barney is a sensitive soul looking for calm understanding owners who will take time and give him space when needed. He gets extremely distressed being alone so will need people who will be with him most of the day. Barney is looking for an adult only home with no visiting children. Barney has alot of training needs so owners would need to be willing to make multiple visits to the centre and work along side our behaviour team. He will need direct access to his own private, secure garden with 6ft fencing.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Barney, who is based at Kenilworth (West Midlands). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
