Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Dana is a sweet, sensitive girl that also has a silly and affectionate side. She can be nervous with new people therefore will time to get to know you before going home. Dana enjoys a balanced lifestyle, combining activity with equal amounts of snoozing! She would make a wonderful office buddy for someone who works at home - she doesn't need to be entertained, she will just be happy that you're there.

Type of home needed

Dana has spent the last couple of months in a very experienced foster home which has given us the opportunity to learn lots more about her. So many aspects of her personality have begun to shine through in this time. She is house trained, and will need a secure garden as she did escape from her first home! Dana needs to live in a pet free home and in a quiet area as she is rather sensitive to noises and activity outside of the house. Dana's biggest obstacle is her lack of confidence in most situations, and her family will need to be committed to helping her build that on a daily basis, but at her pace.

More about me

Dana needs time to get to know her new family before she goes home. As we can't offer meetings at the rehoming centre at the moment, she'll stay safe with us until restrictions are lifted. If you are interested in applying to adopt Dana, click on the "Come And Meet Me" button. We can start the process but you'll need to wait for lockdown to end before you can meet her.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Dana, who is based at Merseyside (Liverpool). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
