Our rehoming centres are currently closed to the public but you can still adopt some of our dogs: take a look at their profiles to see which ones. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming.

We’ve set up a new rehoming process which includes social distancing measures to help keep staff and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment and this now applies to all of our rehoming centres in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Likes

Alfie is a 9-year-old Jack Russell Terrier. Alfie does enjoy attention and interaction with his owner, although he is an independant boy who is not a lapdog. Alfie likes having his own space and can sometimes be uncomfortable being handled, he would like a home with calm owners and no children. He is a happy little man and he loves his walks! He likes to explore and have a sniff in amongst the leaves and the tall grass. Alfie would need to be the only pet in the home as he prefers the company of his family rather than other dogs.

Type of home needed

Alfie is looking for a peaceful home with an experienced owner who would be happy to come up and meet him a few times to get to know him and build a relationship with him. His favourite places to walk are areas with not many other dogs around where he can enjoy exploring and the peace and quiet. Alfie would love his own garden where he can potter and play with his toys before relaxing in his cosy bed.

More about me

Alfie is a clever little man who will sit nicely and give a paw for a tasty treat! He is fully housetrained and is happy to be at home for a couple of hours on his own. He would love to get to know you better, why not come in and ask about him? Alfie would like to meet his new family a few times before going home to build a relationship.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Alfie, who is based at West Calder (Edinburgh). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog.

We’ve set up a new rehoming process which includes social distancing measures to help keep staff and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming.

We will, of course, be doing everything to ensure the safety of our staff, and adopters when we offer this service. You can find out more about this below.
