Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

I'm looking for a new home...

About Zara

2 to 5 Years

Zara is a young Borzoi with a sweet but sensitive nature. She is a lady with a few worries about the world around her, so can feel unsure when exposed to unfamiliar environments or when meeting new people (she is particularly fearful around men). However, once you've gained her trust, she's always eager to be in your company and will love nothing more than receiving lots of cuddles and affection. Zara is hoping to find an understanding family who will help to boost her confidence, while supporting her with some on-going training.

Type of home needed

Zara's adopters must be willing to make multiple visits to our rehoming centre, so they can get to know her gradually. She is unable to live with any cats, chickens, caged birds or other small, furry pets. Zara tends to lack in confidence around other canines but seems to feel more comfortable around small-medium sized breeds. She is particularly worried around larger dogs or those of an exuberant character. Zara will need to be the only dog in the household and go for walks in quieter areas or at quieter times of the day. While she walks beautifully on her lead and loves to explore on her walks, Zara can feel a little apprehensive when walking next to the traffic, so her adopters should avoid any busy roads where possible. Zara's love of people means she doesn't cope so well with alone-time. She's looking for a home where she'll always have company -and especially in the initial stages- until she can gradually learn to feel comfortable and settled on her own. The youngest members of her family must be over the age of 16 and visitors will need to be of the same age. It is essential that she has a garden of her own at home.
